This historic photograph from 1957, shows Ms. Ursula Moss examining a flask of tissue culture cells at the former Communicable Disease Centers’ (CDC) Rickettsia Laboratories. The rotating drum on the pushcart, when operating, would roll the culture flask at a slow speed, thereby, keeping the cells that adhered to the glass flask’s interior walls bathed in nutritive culture fluid.
