Under a magnification of 300X, this photomicrograph of an experimentally infected guinea pig skin scraping sample, highlighted some of the histopathologic changes caused by the fungal organism, Microsporum vanbreuseghemii, designated strain X127. Note the web of hyphal filaments, as well as a number of solitary sprouting conidia.
