Under a magnification of 600X, this photomicrograph highlighted some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Trichophyton ajelloi, formerly known as Keratinomyces ajelloi, designated 57-D5. Note these three septate macroconidia, still attached by their respective pedicle to a hyphal filament. These organisms originated from a Tennessee soil sample.
