Under a magnification of 475X, this was a photomicrograph of a skin scraping from a Malabar giant squirrel, Ratufa indica, infected with the fungal organism, Microsporum vanbreuseghemii. Note the numerous mycelial filaments, as well as abundant arthrospores.
