Under a magnification of 435X, this was a photomicrograph of a murine tissue sample that had been experimentally inoculated with the fungal organism of the genus, Coccidioides. The image revealed two, thick-walled spherules. In this experimental case of coccidioidomycosis, the inoculum had been derived from an Arizona soil sample.
