This was a photomicrograph of a canine tissue section, harvested from the animal’s auricle, which revealed histopathology indicative of a case of coccidioidomycosis. A fungal infection caused by organisms of the genus, Coccidioides. Note the organism’s reproductive structure known as a spherule in the center (arrowhead).
