This image depicts a 2-tube nutritional test involving the fungal organism, Trichophyton megninii. The tube on the left contained an unidentified growth medium, to which was added ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), while the tube on the right contained an unidentified growth medium, to which was added NH4NO3 + histidine. The test revealed the complete histidine requirements of T. megninii.
