Under a magnification of 100X, this photomicrograph of an unidentified tissue section highlighted some of the histopathologic changes due to the disease coccidioidomycosis, caused by a fungal organism of the genus, Coccidioides. In this view, you can see an ongoing inflammatory reaction, as well as a collapsed Coccidioides sp. spherule.
