This image depicted two slant culture test tubes, which highlighted results of a Trichophyton tonsurans nutritional test. The tube on the left contained a growth medium with added casein, while the tube at right contained the same growth medium with casein, as well as thiamine. The more abundant growth in the right-hand tube indicated the positive impact the addition of thiamine had upon the growth of the T. tonsurans organisms.
