Under a magnification of 200X, this photomicrograph highlighted some of the structural morphology exhibited by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton gallinae, designated strain D.7.21. Note the presence of cigar-shaped, septate, multicellular macroconidia floating amongst a web of filamentous hyphae. Numbers of tiny, clavate microconidia were also visible.
