This image depicts a Peruvian man with cutaneous lesions indicative of leishmaniasis. In this case, the disease is the mucocutaneous form. Note the ulcer on the distal left forearm and wrist. Also see PHIL 17531 for a close view of this patient’s face, which exhibits a leishmanial lesion on the nose.
