Captured in Guatemala, Central America, this image shows an anterior view of a patient’s head and upper body, highlighting early structural changes associated with lepromatous leprosy (Hansen’s disease), caused by Mycobacterium leprae. Note the early flattening of the nasal bridge, developing forehead nodularity, and subtle irregularities in the contour of the cheeks.
