This historic 1961 photograph depicted polio vaccination campaign activities that were taking place at a Decatur, Georgia high school, where healthcare providers were handing out oral polio vaccine sugar cubes to young children, who were accompanied by their parents. With her hand opened, a young girl was ready to accept the sugar cube offered to her by the nurse, who was using a forceps to accomplish the hand-off.
