This historic 1961 photograph depicted polio vaccination campaign activities that were taking place at a Decatur, Georgia high school, where healthcare providers were handing out oral polio vaccine sugar cubes to young children, who were accompanied by their parents. One of the older boys was shown having taken the cube into his mouth, while a very young boy was awaiting his turn to accept the cube from the seated nurse.
