Under a magnification of 30X, this image depicts a very close view of the surface of what is known as a soil hair culture plate, which had been inoculated with the fungal organism, Nannizzia vanbreuseghemii, formerly known as Microsporum vanbreuseghemii, and had produced these cottony, round cleistothecia.
