Caption:
Under a magnification of 600X, this image from a slide preparation depicts a very close view of the peridial wall, of a mature cleistothecium produced by the fungal organism, Nannizzia vanbreuseghemii, formerly known as Microsporum vanbreuseghemii. Note the spiral shaped interwoven hyphae that compose the exterior peridial wall, including a multicellular, septate, elongated macroconidium wrapped up in the peridial structure.
