This was a photomicrograph of a fungal culture specimen, that had been harvested from an unidentified species of tortoise, which highlighted some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism of the genus, Beauveria, cause of the disease known as beauveriasis. Note the elongated, multicellular macroconidia, and interwoven, septate hyphal filaments.
