This photomicrograph shows a specimen derived from a brain-heart infusion (BHI) agar plate culture supplemented with 5% rabbit blood, which supported the growth of Campylobacter fetus subsp. intestinalis. The specimen was stained using a flagellar stain to highlight the presence of unipolar, flagellated C. fetus subsp. intestinalis organisms.
