This photograph depicted a close view of the surface of a Petri dish culture plate that had contained a growth medium of brain-heart infusion (BHI), and 5% rabbit blood, which was inoculated with the bacterial organism, Campylobacter fetus subsp. jejuni, and after a 48-hour incubation period, produced these discrete colonies.
