Caption:
This photomicrograph highlights the phenomenon known as the Toxoplasma gondii immunoglobulin G (IgG) polar staining (PS) indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) reaction. This phenomenon was first described in IgG antibodies. The staining pattern is the same as that observed with IgM antibodies, with the same pole of the T. gondii parasites stained by both IgG and IgM antibody classes.
