This historic image shows a typhus ambulance containing a seated male patient on a small wooden bench within the cabin. The ambulance was designed to be carried on the back of a man to the nearest healthcare facility (see PHIL 29426). The photograph was taken in the municipality of Ostuncalco, Guatemala, during a typhus investigation.
