Captured in 1960, this historic image shows Rhode Island State Epidemiologist Raymond F. McAteer, M.D., seated at his desk during the Rhode Island polio epidemic. During the epidemic, Dr. McAteer served as Medical Director of the Division of Communicable Diseases at the Rhode Island Department of Health.
