This historic image, captured in August 1963, depicts a line of people waiting to enter a polio vaccination station set up inside the Walker County Courthouse in Jasper, Alabama. A sign outside the building reads, “Polio Station Sat. 8AM – 6PM.” The scene took place during a polio vaccination campaign that year.
