In this historic image, appearing second from the left, was entomologist, and United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Officer, Herbert F. Schoof, Ph.D. The photograph was captured in El Salvador during a malaria study, and showed Dr. Schoof and his colleagues from the former Communicable Disease Center (CDC), as well as the Pan American Sanitary Bureau (PASB) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as they were checking over some maps of the local region.
