This historic image from 1978, depicted a group of four Center for Disease Control (CDC) staffers, posed in the lobby of what had been the former Building-1 on the organization’s Roybal Campus. From left to right were Dr. Charles Hall, then possibly Marie Baird Patterson, who was presenting the Dr. Bill Jenkins ‘Best in Show’ Memorial Trophy on behalf of the Chihuahua Club to Mr. Ed Kennedy, followed by an unknown man, and on the far right stood Mr. Stanley Dever. Dr. Jenkins was renowned for his work in trying to put a halt to the Tuskegee syphilis experiments carried out during the 1960s.
