This historic photograph from 1963, depicted a nurse, who was in the process of assisting a seated male convalescent patient with his clinical exercise session. The man was wearing a neck brace, while using exercise equipment consisting of two hand stirrups, attached by a length of rope, and suspended by two pullies. The objective was to have the patient pull down on one end of the rope, while supply some counter-resistance with the opposite hand.
