This historic image from 1960, was captured during a public health related United States Medical Mission to Africa, and depicted what was referred to as a block of native housing in this area of Johannesburg, South Africa. These dwellings highlighted modernized facilities. The type that were destined to replace the outdated homes depicted in PHIL 30070.
