This 1976 photograph was captured during an investigation of hepatitis at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, located in South Dakota. The viral disease was thought to have been spread from person to person at school, however, there was no major investigative breakthrough. This scene was caught inside an administrative conference room, in which school administrators and epidemiologic investigators had gathered to discuss their findings.
