This historic photograph, captured in 1975 during an epidemiologic investigation of an encephalitis outbreak in an unidentified location in North Dakota and western Minnesota, shows an aerial view of the surrounding terrain. Numerous floodwater pools and inundated low-lying areas are visible across the landscape, illustrating environmental conditions in the affected region. Details of the investigation findings are not available. The image was provided by Dr. John C. Harris of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Bureau of Epidemiology.
