At 150X magnification, this photomicrograph of eosin and light green–stained kidney tissue from a greater mouse-eared bat, Myotis myotis, captured in Israel, shows histopathologic changes associated with histoplasmosis caused by Histoplasma capsulatum. Clusters of yeast-like tissue forms of H. capsulatum are visible.
