This historic image from July 6, 1975, shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) epidemiologist and former director of the Global Smallpox Eradication Program (1966–1970), J. Donald Millar, MD, DTPH, holding one of two sculptures related to smallpox. At the time, Dr. Millar was discussing smallpox eradication in India with colleagues in a CDC conference room.
