This historic photograph, captured in 1957, depicts a group portrait of three public health professionals who were staff members of the Communicable Disease Center (CDC). From left to right stand Dr. Sturgis McKeever, assigned to the Newton, Georgia, Public Health Field Station; Dr. Floyd O. Atchley, assigned to the Cumberland Field Station in Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and Mr. Gory J. Love, Acting Chief of the Public Health Field Station in Newton, Georgia.
