Captured in October 1956, this historic photograph shows the instructors and attendees of the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) training course entitled "Laboratory Methods in the Diagnosis of Parasitic Diseases: Part 2 – Blood Parasites." The course was conducted from October 8 through October 26. Notable instructors include Dr. Marion Murphy Brooke, standing first on the left in the back row; Elvio H. Sadun, ScD, standing second from the left in the back row; Dr. Mae Melvin, standing second from the right in the second row; and Harry D. Pratt, MS, PhD, standing in the center of the front row.
