Captured in 1956, this historic photograph shows Communicable Disease Center (CDC) microbiologist Dr. William B. Cherry, seated in the laboratory on the right, as he was conducting an unidentified demonstration to four laboratorians, one of whom was laboratory technician Rudolph Falcone, standing second from the left. The five test tubes positioned in the rack before Dr. Cherry are labeled "feces" while he uses an inoculating loop to transfer material to a Petri dish culture plate.
