Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer George L. Rubin, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. During his career at CDC, Dr. Rubin conducted epidemiologic research involving reproductive and maternal health. He later continued his career in Australia, where he held senior public health leadership and academic positions, including serving as Chief Health Officer of New South Wales and Professor of Public Health at the University of Sydney.
