Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Edward S. Wong, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. Following his EIS service, Dr. Wong continued his career in infectious diseases and hospital epidemiology, conducting research involving healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial-resistant organisms, and infection prevention.
