Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Winfield Scott Stryker, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. During his early career in epidemiology, Dr. Stryker participated in investigations involving foodborne disease and hepatitis B transmission. He later conducted research in nutritional and chronic disease epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and subsequently continued his career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields.
