Captured in 1956, this historic portrait shows U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) staff member Jean S. Grant, whose public health work included malaria surveillance, prevention, and control activities. Ms. Grant collaborated with noted malariologist Justin M. Andrews and contributed to published research and historical accounts documenting malaria control and eradication efforts in the United States.
