Captured in 1975, this historic portrait shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Diane K. Wysowski, PhD, MPH, a member of the EIS Class of 1974. During her CDC career, Dr. Wysowski conducted epidemiologic research involving cancer, birth defects, and other public health concerns. She later continued her career with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where she became a noted pharmacoepidemiologist whose work focused on adverse drug events, medication use, and drug safety surveillance.
