Captured in 1985, this historic portrait shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) nurse epidemiologist S. Christine Zahniser, RN, MPH. During her career at CDC, Ms. Zahniser worked extensively in reproductive and maternal health epidemiology, including pregnancy-related research and the development of international training in applied reproductive health epidemiology. She later served in cancer surveillance and continued her career in public health training and workforce development.
