Under a magnification of 900X, this photomicrograph highlights the histopathologic changes exhibited by a corneal tissue specimen infected with the amoeba Acanthamoeba polyphaga, resulting in Acanthamoeba keratitis. Note the arrowhead indicating an A. polyphaga organism within the corneal tissue.
