Under a magnification of 875X, this photomicrograph highlights Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells infected with influenza A/New Jersey/76 (Hsw1N1), the swine influenza A virus. The infected cells were stained with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-conjugated antibodies directed against viral surface antigens and visualized using the immunofluorescence technique.
