This 1975 portrait depicted physician and epidemiologist John S. Andrews, Jr., MD, an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). During his work in public health epidemiology, Dr. Andrews served with the Minnesota Department of Health, where he was identified as acting state epidemiologist by 1976. His subsequent career included work in community health and academic medicine.
