This historic photograph, captured on September 10, 1964, provides a southwesterly view of construction underway at the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) headquarters campus on Clifton Road in Atlanta, Georgia. The photograph documents construction of Addition B to Building 1, which would provide additional office space for CDC personnel. Concrete foundation walls and structural columns are taking shape, while extensive formwork, shoring, reinforcing steel, scaffolding, and construction materials illustrate the continuing development of the addition.
