This historic photograph, captured on October 10, 1964, provides a westward view of construction underway at the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) headquarters campus on Clifton Road in Atlanta, Georgia. The photograph documents construction of Addition B to Building 1, which would provide additional office space for CDC personnel. Concrete structural columns and elevated floor construction are taking shape, while extensive formwork, shoring, scaffolding, reinforcing steel, and construction materials illustrate the continuing development of the addition.
