Caption:
Captured in 1975, this image was part of a slideshow that was used to familiarize public health inspectors with the unsanitary conditions commonly found inside migrant worker camps. This particular photograph depicted the accumulation of wastewater on the grounds of this migrant camp. Inspectors need to be aware of wastewater disposal from sources other than sewage including kitchens, showers, laundries, etc. They must be alert to signs that the septic system has failed, as was shown in this photograph.
