This photomicrograph reveals ultrastructural details exhibited by a single Hymenolepis diminuta tapeworm ovum. Hymenolepis diminuta eggs are round, or slightly oval in shape, and are 70µm-86µm X 60µm-80µm in size. They have a striated outer membrane, and a thin inner membrane. The space in between these membrane layers is smooth to faintly granular.
