Caption:
This historic 1932 photograph depicted a physician, who was conducting a medical examination of a dairy worker, while at the state tuberculosis sanatorium in Ah-Gwah-Ching, Minnesota. Ensuring worker health was an important step in keeping the food supply safe, both for the patients, as well as the staff. This was one of a series of instructional images, used by the Minnesota Board of Health to train the state’s public health workers. The purpose of these images, and the associated training, was focused on protecting food supplies from bacterial contamination.
