This photomicrograph of a lymph node tissue sample, revealed histopathologic changes in a case of a human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection. This view, shows a complete loss of the germinal centers, and partial effacement of architecture signaling imminent progression of HIV disease to AIDS in this patient.
