The Seine River flows through Paris, the capital city of France. This view of the Seine was from the Eiffel Tower. From this vantage point, it was possible to see the many bridges spanning the river, as well as the visual effect of the city’s building height limit of approximately six stories throughout the city center. The design contributes to the impression of the cityscape as low, convenient, and the streets unencumbered by shadows, hence its reputation as the City of Light.
